Understand Submission Lifecycle
The three states and how to move submissions through them.
Problem: You have a submission in Inbox but are not sure what the statuses mean, how to move it forward, or when it is considered done.
Solution: Every submission has three states. Move it through them as you progress: Reply → Waiting → Done.
Reply
Someone submitted. Action required from you.
Waiting
You replied. Waiting for their response.
Done
Conversation finished, archived cleanly.
State 1: Reply
Someone submitted your form. Action is required from you. This is your to-do list — everything here needs a submission. A submission stays in Reply until you act.

- —All new submissions start here automatically
- —You cannot create a submission in Waiting or Done — Reply is the starting state
- —Reply within 24 hours for best conversion
State 2: Waiting
You replied. Now you are waiting for their response. Move here after you send a demo link, meeting invite, or follow-up message.

- —The next step depends on them, not you
- —Submission stays visible but with lower urgency than Reply
- —Move back to Reply if you need to follow up again
State 3: Done
The conversation is finished. Demo happened, deal won or lost, showing completed, inquiry resolved.

- —Submission is archived and removed from active work

Monday 9am: Visitor submits demo request → Reply
Monday 10am: You send demo link → Waiting

Common Questions
What do the three submission statuses mean in EnterestOS?
Reply: someone submitted, action required from you. Waiting: you replied, waiting for their reply. Done: conversation finished, deal won or lost.
Can I move a submission back from Done to Reply?
Yes. If a resolved conversation becomes active again, you can reopen it and move it back to Reply.
Why can I not create a submission with status Waiting or Done?
Because a submission exists because someone showed interest and has not yet been contacted. The lifecycle starts at Reply by design — it ensures you always respond before progressing.
